Hello, I'm here to share with you how the GLC Switch Series went at LAIC 24-25. The Tournament had 34 players in two days of event, where the first day had 6 rounds of Swiss and top cut for the second day. The Champion was taking home a Nintendo Switch Lite. The Meta was dominated by Colorless and Dragon, and had no Metal or Fairy decks in the tournament.
7 Colorless
6 Dragon
4 Psychic
4 Grass
3 Water
3 Lightning
3 Darkness
3 Fighting
1 Fire
0 Metal
0 Fairy
The first top 8 list is one from Lost Zone with interesting cards like Rotom Dex, Bicycle, Custom Catcher, Stadium Nav and Cyllene. An interesting point is the absence of gengar to put pressure on the Early game.
Another psychic in the top8 was André's list, using Xatu and Malamar as a standard to energize attackers such as Latios, Necrozma, Mewtwo and the recently released Iron Boulder. Cards like Judge, Iono, N and Red card help control the opponent's hand to be able to attack with Iron Boulder several turns in a row.
Who said Archeops died after the ban? Igor brought his version of archeops to the tournament, with Special Roll Cincinno to reach high numbers. Another cool combination is using Ciphermaniac and Mallow to draw the right cards with Bibarel and assemble Archeops.
Similar to another list of archeops we saw, Guilherme brought different Sky pillar and Weakness Guard Energy, for the Spread and Fighter match-ups.
Moving into the Top 4, Mônaco came with a version of Tinkaton and Blacephalon, taking full advantage of the deck's special energy synergy along with the use of the Dimensional Vale and Lusamine.
The only non-Brazilian in the top 8, Hugo brought a list very similar to the champion's, focused on setup consistency and prize pressure at the beginning of the game.
The first list of the dragon finals is Gustavo's, containing Dragonite and Tatsugiri, the aim is to have an aggressive start with supporters like Guzma & Hala and Colress Tenacity. Grabbing quick prizes with Raging Bolt, knocking out the opponent's important Pokémon.
E: Would you change anything on the List?
“Definitely a Lance... I was testing without it and I didn't miss it, but during the tournament it made a difference. I played 3 mirrors and saw everyone using Lance and it made a difference for them.”
“I built the deck with the cards I had here, I bought some supports and items just to play in the tournament. I'll try to invest more in the game. In my city there is nothing for GLC.”
Gustavo Seraphim
Who needs Dragonite? The great champion Luann opted only for Tatsugiri. Your decklist has the return of two supporters that we don't often see in current Dragon lists: Roseanne's Backup and Cynthia & Caitlin. With Backup, he was able to recycle important cards such as luxurious cover, parallel city and Double Dragon (with Energy Loto, DDE could be fetched in the same turn as Backup) back into the deck. Another new feature is the absence of Buddy-Buddy Poffin, even though there are 4 basic ones with 70 HP.
E: Would you change anything on the List?
“It's the same list I won at a big local tournament in my town last month. It performed very well in the tournament today, I lost to Lost Zone Psychic in the Swiss and I also had difficulty against Blacephalon in the top4, the 50 HP Ascension Gible was lacking in these matches. ”

Want to give a big shout-out to all to the “GLC do Amor” Brazilian community where I managed to locate and find most of the players who made the top8. Also thank the TOP 8 players for being willing to give interviews and send the decklist. I would like to thank Ícaro “Mano Bulba” (youtube.com/@manobulba4521) for the photos and information about the tournament, soon he will post the deck profile of the finalists.
