CardBoard Warriors GLC Season 3

We are launching the third season of our Gym Leader Challenge competition. Compete to see who is the very best! Winning a tournament and placing #1 in your chosen type will qualify you for the Season Playoffs. The final winner from each region will be placed into the CardBoard Warriors Hall of Fame!

How to Enter

CardBoard Warriors hosts weekly tournaments in alternating timeslots. Every two weeks you will have a chance to gain points on one of the leaderboards, either Europe or Americas. There is absolutely nothing stopping you from competing in both! To get on the leaderboard, all you have to do is sign up for one of our tournaments and compete. We will use your Limitless account name as your leaderboard name. The morning after the tournament is complete, check back on the leaderboard to see where you measure up!

All tournaments will be played in our discord using webcams. Please note the rules in each tournament listing on Limitless to ensure fair play to all competitors.

Rules

Gym Leader Challenge is a singleton format with the following rules:

  • A single type of Pokémon allowed per deck (only water, only fire, etc.)
  • Singleton format, i.e. one of each card with the same name in your deck. You may not have more than one Genesect card, for example. However, Shining Genesect and Genesect may exist in the same deck because they have different names.
  • Cards with a rule box are prohibited (EX, GX, V, VMax, Prism Star, etc.)
  • Ace Spec cards are prohibited
  • Legal sets include Black & White sets to present day.
  • 60 cards per deck
  • 6 prizes

Scoring

The scoring system will mirror what you see in the tournament results in Limitless. Three points are awarded for wins, one point for a draw, and no points for a loss. This scoring system encourages participants to stick it out in the tournament. Have a bad start at 0-2? No worries, hang in there and get three more wins to climb the leaderboard!

Prizes

The top 2 from each tournament will receive a special Japanese card unreleased in international formats yet. Contact #Wheatr on discord for information about prizing if you place in the top 2 for any tournament.

At the end of the season, the top trainer from each type will be entered into a special invite-only tournament for their region. The winner of each region's tournament will enter into the CardBoard Warriors Hall of Fame, and they will compete against each other to see who is the Grand Champion! A trainer may only be a Gym Leader of a single type at a time, so in the event of a trainer leading multiple types, they will need to choose which type they want to represent.
